Welcome To Light Night Bournemouth 2010

Friday 10th September is a date for everyone's diary as Bournemouth Town Watch hosts the free event showcasing many venues with creative talent.  The evening starts from 6pm as various pubs, clubs, bars and special venues open their doors to a selection of art, music, dance and sporting performances.

Entertainment can also be enjoyed outdoors in the specific areas mapped in the event programme.  This is a very special occasion as on the same night the Inside Out Festival launches a new interactive installation in Bournemouth Square running until the 25th of September.  This inspirational activity will be the main feature of Light Night Bournemouth 2010.

Light Night is a national concept that has been a huge success in cities around the UK and now Bournemouth is delighted to launch it's first year.  Bournemouth Town Watch is a dynamic group of licensees and keen to encourage new audiences to their venues.  By teaming up with entertainment publicist, Suzy Wheeler of Strawberry Fields Presents, this is set to be a spectacular showcase bringing together groups and individuals from various communities.

"We want everyone to get involved" comments Suzy.  "People can perform, create artwork, light up buildings, join the team and develop skills in event management or simply come along with family and friends.  We are looking for groups to get in touch so we can visit and present what Light Night Bournemouth is all about.  There is so much local creative talent and by working with the venues we have the ideal platform to create a legacy for future years to come."

This is an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful evening celebrating creativity and Bournemouth's nighttime economy.  From story telling to street dance acts, fire performances to children's keep fit fun, venues are getting ready to host unusual entertainment including Bournemouth Library, the Russell-Cotes Museum and St Peters Church.
