Light Night Perth
Light Night Perth is a free cultural festival which will be the finale to the Perth 800 celebrations. Perth 800 is a year long celebration in 2010 which marks the 800th anniversary of the granting of the Royal Burgh Charter to Perth by King William the Lion in 1210.
Using Perth city centre as a venue, Perthshire Past, Present and Future will be portrayed through a spectacular light trail guiding you from Kirk to Castle. Iconic Perthshire buildings such as St John’s Kirk, Perth Concert Hall, Perth Museum and Art Gallery and AK Bell Library will be illuminated for the evening, as well as the River Tay.
Not only will we be illuminating the skies around Perth we'll be bringing you art installations and exhibitions, medieval markets and music, a travelling gallery, a modern day treasure hunt, dance acts with a twist, a family film night, fireworks, a storytelling yurt , dramatic historic walks and much much more!!! The event is FREE and suitable for all the family.
