Sheffield's Light Night event will be staged during September 2009 and will be a brand new event for the city. Light Night offers the city a chance to highlight our iconic city centre buildings and award winning public realm areas. The Heart of the City has been transformed in recent years and through Light Night Sheffield citizens and visitors will
rediscover their city centre and un-cover hidden gems that they may never have realised were there.

Light Night in Sheffield will feature;

Live music and al fresco dining
Music stages in key open spaces showcasing local bands.
Outdoor dining areas will offer continental style al fresco dining experiences with live music and street entertainment)
Projections and light shows/effects

Stunning lighting projections will add the wow factor to this illuminating event. Shadowing the UK's sister city of Como high quality light projections will feature images of the city past and present. Iconic buildings will be beautifully lit to highlight the main areas of the city centre and the event.

Circus and street entertainment acts Sheffield's own circus company will showcase the iconic Winter Garden, the architecturally stunning centrepiece of the Heart of the City regeneration project. The largest glass house in a European city centre will be brought to life by a specially commissioned piece of circus spectacle. Covent garden style circle acts will add an element of fantasy and entertainment to the event. Moving between the venues they will help to connect the elements and direct people into the venues.
